The Carnival this year will be held on 30th June where the theme will be .....TV COMMERCIALS!!.

According to my sources, this year is the 30th anniversary of the Carnival so we hope you can dredge your memories for some of the most colourful, comical, and memorable TV commercials of the past 30 years and turn these into fantastic floats and fancy dress!

We hope that every organisation and many streets and cul de sacs in the village will enter a float - whether on a lorry or on foot - to make the procession extra special. It should be spectacular!

If you need a lorry for your float, as with last year's event, we are hoping that we can help out. Contact us using details shown on the Contact Us page if you are interested in going for it this year!

Children can dress up in imaginative costumes to take part in the Fancy Dress Competition. There will be individual and group prizes for the best fancy dress.

Looking back at last year's Carnival, despite a mainly damp and drizzly day, local people turned out in force to support the event. We saw some great floats and fancy dress, more stalls than ever before, and the usual array of entertainment and activities on the field. Thanks to everyone for your support. The Carnival raised some £5000 in total, including the Creigiau 23 bar and BBQ. Cheques have been presented to CRAMC and Creigiau 23 for £1850 each, to be used locally in the village for sports and recreation facilities, and to help our clubs, associations and other village groups.

Thanks to all who spend their money, support and help organise the Carnival, it's a big team effort and very much appreciated. A special mention to Mike Amadeo for making his lorries available for floats, to Jen McDonald for organising the popular Creigiau Open Gardens as part of the Carnival celebrations, and to all the Carnival Committee for giving so much of their time during the year to organise the Carnival.

Don't forget that entry to the Carnival field is by Carnival programme. These are on sale during the weeks leading up to the Carnival and they can also be bought on the gate. We are very grateful to local companies for supporting the Carnival by advertising in the programme.
